Greetings beloved supporters and friends of the Rhizome House!
We have many exciting and intriguing events coming up this month, including poetry readings, benefit shows, support groups, skill building workshops, and mutual aid offerings. We'd love to see you in the space!
Upcoming August Scheduling Break
The collective members that manage caretaking for Rhizome House are planning to take a much-needed break over the month of August. Our regular monthly and weekly events will still be happening, but we'll be pausing for any additional event requests for the month. Be sure to check the calendar for updates and changes. Want to book an event? Feel free to email us with event proposals for September and beyond!
Monthly Update:
Check out how we are doing financially on our Open Collective page, where 46 monthly contributors helped us to be only $10 away from covering the cost of keeping the space open entirely through community support. Want to help get us to 50 supporters, fund better snacks, and even more mutual aid supplies? Consider becoming a recurring donor through the OC link above.
Stop by (almost) *every* Sunday from 1-4 pm for Open Hours!* (except for Sunday 6/29 this month, when we're closed for a collective meeting)Cleveland Anarchist Reading Group is working through Operating System by Eric Laursen. Get it from AK Press or snag a copy from your local library! From the publisher: “Anyone concerned with entrenched power, income inequality, lack of digital privacy, climate change, the amateurish response to COVID-19, or military-style policing will find eye-opening insights into how states operate and build more power for themselves—at our expense. The state won’t solve our most pressing problems, so why do we obey? It’s time to think outside the state.” Link: https://www.akpress.org/operating-system.htmlThe Sidekicks (five poetry/poetry-ish writing friends from Chicago) will be stopping in Cleveland on Saturday, June 14th from 7-9pm at the Rhizome House!
