Writing Group Cancelled & Upcoming Events
Though Writing Group is cancelled this Sunday, we still have a very busy weekend (and week beyond) lined up. Events range from a parenting meet-up, QMAC, gardening for resiliency, a small engine workshop, mutual aid social therapy, MAYDAY, and beyond!
Saturday, April 25
Monthly Parent Meet-Up, 11:00am – 1:00pm
QMAC: Queer Martial Arts Club and Self-Defense, 4:00 – 6:00pm
Sunday, April 26
Gardening for Resiliency (Tactical Gardening), 11am – 1pm
Sunday, April 26th from 11am - 1pm to discuss what we can do NOW to prepare ourselves and our neighbors for emergencies that impact food. Attendees will leave with: 1) An understanding of short vs long term crops 2) A plan and supplies to prep your garden site 3) Connections to community members also interested in gardening for resiliency.
Drop in: Free coffee, wifi, library during distro/open hours and crafternoon, 1 – 4pm
Small Engine Workshop, 6 – 8pm
Learn how to troubleshoot, maintain and repair gasoline powered small engines such as lawnmowers, chainsaws, powerwashers and generators.
Tuesday, April 28
Mutual Aid Social Therapy, 6 – 8pm
RESCHEDULED FROM MARCH! join us for our first session of Mutual Aid Social Therapy (MAST)! Expect about an hour of skillshare workshop followed by about an hour of breakout (ideally triads) sharing/listening circles.
For this first session, skillshare workshop is about MAST itself: what it is, why we need it, and collective decision making about our structures and agreements.
Triads will be self-selected. Each member will talk about whatever they want heard for 15-20 minutes and receive the kind of responses they request (active listening, follow up questions, advice, comfort, other)
Facilitation is by peers, not therapists. Therapists are welcome to attend as equal participants not as professionals.
